Freedom House is Barrier Free Living’s safe and accessible shelter for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities and their families. This BFL program offers counseling, support groups, advocacy, safety planning.

BFL Apartments offers permanent housing for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities, and veterans with disabilities. Services include on-site counseling, skill-building workshops, and community events.

Freedom Village will be a newly constructed supportive housing project on the Lower East Side of New York City. The project is an Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) project serving two supportive populations including survivors of domestic violence and frail elderly seniors.
The Deaf Hotline

The Deaf Hotline is a 24/7 hotline that is ASL accessible for people experiencing abuse. With the Deaf Hotline, you can consult with a culturally-adept and trained advocate in ASL. Whether you’re in need of safety planning, crisis intervention, emotional support or have some questions, we are here for you.

Deaf SHARE (Survivor Healing through Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment) serves anyone suffering from the traumatic experiences of sexual abuse, rape, and/or domestic violence.

Counseling — Counseling (short-term, one-on-one, or family) may be available for anyone who has been abused or who has experienced domestic violence or sexual assault. A support group for Deaf women is also available.

Parenting Classes — Classes are offered periodically and meet once a week for 12 weeks. The classes are taught in ASL and offer parenting skills and discuss how domestic violence affects the whole family.

Case Management — Deaf SHARE also offers case management and advocacy to Deaf victims of domestic/sexual violence. We may be able to help with:
