Join us on APRIL 12TH, from 10:00-2:00PM as we honor victims of Sexual Assault in our community. Our exhibit, titled “What Were You Wearing?,” illustrates stories shared by survivors about what they had on when they were sexually assaulted. Survivors of sexual assault are often asked, “What were you wearing?”. The purpose of this display is aimed to shatter the victim-blaming myth that sexual assault occurs due to a person’s choice in clothing.
The display will be in front of the MONTGOMERY COUNTY COURTHOUSE in Conroe (301 N Main St, Conroe, TX 77301). Shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase/ pickup.
IN HONOR OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT A DISPLAY TO LEND A VOICE TO THE 873 SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS THAT WE ACCOMPANIED IN 2023. JOIN US ON APRIL 12TH AT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY COURTHOUSE STEPS FOR A INCREDIBLY IMPACTFUL DISPLAY WHO’S MISSION IS THE SMASH MYTHS ASSOCIATED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT. THE DISPLAY WILL RUN FROM 9AM-3PM.
THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY WOMEN’S CENTER ADVOCATES SERVE AS AN INDISPENSABLE RESOURCE AND AN AGENT OF HOPE WHEN THEY ACCOMPANY SURVIVORS TO FORENSIC EXAMS.
