2025 Woman of Distinction
For more than 30 years, nonprofit organizations in Montgomery County have come together annually to honor one of their shining volunteers. She is recognized for the numerous hours, unyielding commitment, and loyal dedication she has provided to their agency. Their dedication, humility, and tireless effort to serve others and our community make these women stand out as a Woman of Distinction.
We are proud to announce our 2025 Woman of Distinction, Peggy Thurman.
After retiring from the Oil & Gas Industry, I was looking for a place to give back to my community and help others in need. I found the perfect home at Montgomery County Women’s Center. I have had the opportunity to work at the front office of the counseling center in The Woodlands, answering the phones and often directing clients to local resources. I also spend a lot of my time at the Something Special Resale Shop, working in various departments, knowing that all the money raised there benefits so many people in our area. The other volunteer role I have in the community is as a child advocate with CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, helping children in foster care. Working with both of these wonderful organizations has been very rewarding.
