Every year, we provide an opportunity to bring joy to a family that’s holiday season looks and sounds a little different. Through our Holiday Program, our shelter residents and community families who have experienced domestic abuse are able to have some normalcy during the holidays through gifts donated by generous sponsors.
Whether you are participating with coworkers or with family, this program is a great opportunity to start a conversation about domestic violence and how it effect’s individuals in our community and gives you an opportunity to show survivors support during an often challenging time of year.
You can support the program by sponsoring a family or individual, hosting a giving tree, or making a monetary donation.
For three wonderful days in December, over 100 clients and families receive gifts, homemade cookies and hugs. They are overwhelmed by the generosity of strangers who provide holiday gifts for their families. If not for the compassion of the individuals and the companies who graciously adopt them, the holidays would be no different than any other day on the calendar. This event is made possible by the many generous donors who sponsor families or make cash donations.
